Carmel Medical Spas Report Surge in Injectable Treatment Demand
Medical spas across Carmel are reporting a sharp increase in demand for injectable treatments as more clients seek preventative rather than corrective care.
Medical spas across Carmel are reporting a sharp increase in demand for injectable treatments, with several practices noting a shift toward younger clients seeking preventative treatments rather than the corrective procedures that historically made up the bulk of injectable business.
Practice owners said clients in their late twenties and early thirties now represent a growing share of injectable appointments, often seeking smaller, more frequent treatments intended to slow the appearance of aging rather than reverse more established signs, a trend providers attribute partly to increased social media awareness of preventative approaches.
"Ten years ago, most of my injectable clients were in their forties or fifties and came in wanting to address lines that had already set in," said the owner of a Carmel medical spa near the Arts and Design District. "Now I'm seeing a lot more clients in their late twenties who want to start early and maintain rather than wait and correct."
The shift has prompted several local practices to expand appointment availability and add additional injector staff to handle increased volume, with some clinics reporting booking windows extending several weeks out during peak demand periods. Practice owners said the trend has also increased demand for consultation appointments, as younger clients often want more detailed explanation of treatment options before committing to their first procedure.
Dermatologists in the area have offered mixed reactions to the trend, with some expressing support for conservative preventative approaches while cautioning against over-treatment in younger patients who may not yet need intervention. Medical spa owners said they have implemented more conservative treatment protocols for younger clients specifically in response to these concerns.
